Motherland developed through fieldwork in Scotland during my Distinguished Scholar Fulbright residency at Glasgow School of Art, tracing relationships among landscape, ancestry, migration, and belonging. Photographs made while traveling through the Highlands became source material for Jacquard-woven tapestries, embroidery, and printed works, translating fleeting encounters with landscape into slower material forms. The project considers how places are inherited and imagined as much as experienced, and how memory, movement, and making shape our relationship to land. This research continues in Inverness <> Inverness.
