CCA closure announced / by Carol Elkovich

Having spent most of my adult life associated with California College of the Arts, first as an alum and then as a professor for another 27 years, this news is devastating. I will miss this community deeply. After over 100 years of CCA, the legacy of arts and design education in the Bay Area is being erased slowly as yet another small arts college closes. We need artists, culture, art education, and resilient creative thinking. I am now moving into another chapter of my practice and will practice what I have taught, as always — risk, resilience, deep thinking, slow making, and community building.
